Northern Safety & Industrial (NSI), a member of the Würth Group, is a national distributor of top-quality safety and industrial supplies. We are searching for a full-time Business System Analyst (BSA) to work on Business Intelligence/Data Engineering Solutions at our recently acquired company, ORR Safety in Louisville, KY or at our NSI corporate headquarters in Frankfort, NY.

The BSA will work directly with the Business to fully understand needs and objectives, model current and future state, recommend changes to the Organization, partner with Data Engineering on technical solutions, and provide the available solution(s) to the Business for approval.

Expectations of the Role:

• BSA elicits information to understand the full business needs and objectives.
• Models “as is” and “to be” states.
• Provides proposed solution and the business validates.
• Works with the Data Engineering team to analyze technical solution(s).
• Provides available solution(s) to the business for approval.
• Breaks work down into technical requirements and prioritizes them to support Data Engineering Team sprints.
• Accountable for the technical solution that is implemented by development team.
• Validates work delivered by the Technical Team meets requirements.
• Showcases technical functionality to the stakeholders.
• Trains stakeholders and provide documented process, if needed.
• Determines how changes are managed across the project.

Skills and Experience we like to see:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Computer Science, or related field and/or a combination of 3+ years of experience in a BA/BSA role, along with an understanding of business intelligence concepts and report development.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Able to communicate effectively throughout all levels of the organization, both practical and technical.
• Able to be organized, thorough and accurate.
• Strong professional presence being able to work independently or within a team environment.
• Understands the level of authority assigned to the role and able to manage effectively throughout the organizational layers of a project.
• Naturally inquisitive. Able to use a variety of interview techniques to obtain the details of the business requirements and value to the organization.
