National Grid is seeking a Temporary Field Helpers in Utica, NY. We are a major electricity and gas delivery company with one of the largest electricity transmission and distribution systems in the Northeast.

Temporary Field Helpers will be expected to assist various crew operations in the field. Routine duties would include flagging at construction sites.

Responsibilities will be:

Perform assorted manual labor tasks associated with the construction sites and other similar activities.
Ability to use hand tools.


Job Qualifications:

Must have a High School diploma or equivalent.
AAS in Electrical Construction; equivalent electrical apprenticeship or Electric Line School Certificate is required.
Must pass pre-employment validated company test(s).
Should have aptitude for electrical work.
Must be able to work in the outdoors and inclement weather.
Must be able to walk over uneven terrain.
Must have a valid driver's license.
Valid CDL A (Or ability to obtain one within 6 months)
Currently resides or has the ability to live within 50 miles of Rome/Utica area.

Salary:

Hourly/$23.54


Please be advised that due to the nature of this position, incumbents are subject to federal Drug & Alcohol safety regulations governing US Department of Transportation ("DOT") covered positions, including the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) and Pipeline Hazardous Material Safety Administration (PHMSA). As such, the Company's testing programs and policies regarding the use of federally prohibited drugs or alcohol, for recreational or medical purposes, will remain in effect for these safety-sensitive, DOT covered positions.
