• 2/5/24- Carpenter’s Local #277 is hiring both apprentice and journeyman carpenters. With lots of big construction projects coming up in the local area, this is a great opportunity to earn good money while you learn skills that will last a lifetime. Don’t miss the Apprenticeship Information Session Monday, February 5, 2024 at 6 pm in the first- floor conference room at the State Office Building, 207 Genesee Street. • 2/16/24 Herkimer Working Solutions will be hosting their next Mini Job Fair Friday February 16^th from 1 pm to 3 pm at 320 N. Prospect Street Herkimer.  Learn More
• 2/21/24- from 1 pm to 3 pm NYSDOL is partnering with the Utica Public Library for an in-person job fair. Our Virtual Reality team will be there demonstrating our new VR Career Exploration headsets. Ever wondered what it’s like to be a paramedic or work in a chip-fab plant? You can try it out at our next job fair at the Utica Public Library 303 Genesee Street Utica, 13501.

TRAINING OPPORTUNITIES

• Herkimer BOCES will be hosting English as a Second Language classes at The Frank J. Basloe Public Library every Monday and Wednesday, 3:30-5:30pm. They will also be hosting classes Tuesdays and Thursdays 3:30-5:30 at the Herkimer BOCES Remington Complex in the Adult Literacy Office. Classes are free and no appointment is necessary to attend, individuals do not have to attend every class in order to participate. • 2/1/24-Free Computer Training at Herkimer Working Solutions from Northstar Digital Literacy has been extended. These courses are perfect for people with very basic computer skills, struggling to job search in the digital age, or looking to learn more about Microsoft/Google programs!
