Upcoming Hiring Events & Opportunities

Some of the events on the horizon include:

  • November 15th at 1 pm the Office of Mental Health will host a State Wide Virtual Nursing Career Fair. RNs, LPNs and soon to be nursing grads are encouraged to attend. A flyer with contact and registration information is attached.
  • November 16th from 11 am to 12 pm RADAR will host a National Apprenticeship Roundtable discussion. Anyone interested in learning more about the value of Apprenticeships is encouraged to attend. 
  • November 18th from 11 am to 1 pm-Department of Labor Mini Job Fair-This in-person event is an opportunity to meet with recruiters from Wolfspeed, Indium, Central Association for the Blind and Visually Impaired, Empire State Highway Contractor’s Association and First Choice Staffing. Stop by Utica Working Solutions in the State Office Building, 207 Genesee Street, 2nd Floor on Friday November 18th from 11 am to 1 pm to find out what these top area employers have to offer. They’ll be waiting to meet you!
  • Saturday November 19th from 10 am to 1 pm. Oneida County Department of Community and Family Services will host an open house and hiring event at the Clark City Center, 181 Genesee Street, 3rd Floor. There are opportunities for Caseworkers, Social Workers, Caseworker Assistants, and more. Stop by for a tour and an on site interview.
  • Department of Labor is holding the Labor Service Representative, or LSR exam. Unlike traditional exams, this is a “skills and experience” exam, which means your score is based on your education, skills, and work experience. There’s no studying necessary—all you have to do is respond to an online questionnaire about yourself. That’s it! This exam is open to everyone. To qualify, you must have a bachelor’s degree or higher on or before June 30, 2023.Visit cs.ny.gov/jobseeker/dashboard-start/lsr-trainee-1.cfm to learn how to apply.
