Job description:
Required Educational & Experience Requirements:
1- A Bachelor’s degree, including or in addition to 12 credits in Early Childhood, Child Development or a related field; one year of full-time teaching experience in a child care center, family or group family daycare home or other early childhood program; and one year of experience supervising staff in a child care program or a related field of work; OR
2- A New York State Children’s Program Administrator Credential; one year of full-time teaching experience in a child care center, family or group family day care home or other early childhood program; and one year of experience supervising staff in a child care program or a related field of work; OR
3- An Associate’s degree in Early Childhood or related field, with a plan of study leading to a Bachelor’s degree or a New York State Children’s Program Administrator Credential; two years of full-time teaching experience in a child care center, family or group family day care home or other early childhood program; and two years of experience supervising staff in a child care program or a related field of work; OR
4- A Child Development Associate Credential or other Office-recognized credential, with a plan of study leading to a Bachelor’s degree or a New York State Children’s Program Administrator Credential; two years of full-time teaching experience in a child care center, family or group family day care home or other early childhood program; and two years of experience supervising staff in a child care program or a related field of work.
Summary: Responsible for implementing program goals and objectives and maintaining a positive and professional attitude towards parent/guardians, staff, children and community by performing the following duties (this list is not all inclusive):
>Ensure the program/building adheres to all regulations as set forth by NYS OCFS, CACFP, NYS Dept of Health, NYS Dept of Labor and local Codes Enforcement.
>Review & prepare bills for payment.
> Prepare staff schedules and bi-weekly payroll.
>Submit appropriate billing to outside agencies including DSS & CACFP
>Prepare weekly tuition statements and collect tuition payments.
>Completes programs banking transactions.
>Maintains all state and agency required records for students, safety, staff and meal planning.
>Conducts required fire drills and health & safety inspections on a monthly basis.
>Compiles reports for and attends monthly Board of Directors meetings as well as board committee meetings as requested.
>Oversees child supervision of entire program.
>Assure that staff is up to date on required professional development.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
>Ensure all staff adheres to state and government regulations and centers safety guidelines.
>Oversees the performance of staff.
>Performs and prepares the staff performance evaluations on an annual basis.
