To perform research of policy issues and formulation of policy, research of PERB cases, statistical comparisons, production of relevant surveys and other documents such as fact-finding briefs, as well as preparation of correspondence and reports. Two years’ experience in collective bargaining negotiations, mediation, arbitration or adjustment of contract and disputes between unions and employers and an Associate’s Degree preferred. Starting salary depending upon background and experience. Civil Service position subject to exam.

Title of Job Opening: Labor Relations Specialist-Anticipated – Anticipated Start Date: 02/18/2022
Job Description:
Full time, 12-month position. To serve as chief negotiator and representative for participating school districts in such matters as personnel, employee relations, disciplinary proceedings, investigation of employment discrimination claims and administration of collective bargaining agreements. Analyzes trends in existing employment, wage and salary practices. Plans and conducts workshops and seminars for administrative personnel. Consults with, interprets, and develops policies and procedures for school boards of education. Also serves as school attorney. Qualifications: possession of Juris Doctor, with at least three years of experience as a practicing attorney; experience in collective bargaining or otherwise representing and counseling employers and excellent verbal and writing skills. Experience advising public sector employers, and familiarity with operations of school districts, are preferred. Salary commensurate with professional experience.
